Pataias has quick access to N242, IC1 / A8, is on the National Express network and has local West Line train stations. 1hr 15mins from Lisbon airport.
The Wine Cellar History
The founder, architect and sole owner was Joaquim Vieira Franco. An eccentric and bohemian, it’s been said that he was a free minded inventor, lover of the unconventional with a keen interest in all things mechanical. It’s clear his aura will remain within these walls for as long as they stand.
As you walk into the Wine Cellar you can still sense the atmosphere of old, it’s impossible not to wonder the stories, adventures and livelihood of those that visited. There is no doubt a sense of bohemian nostalgia is imprinted in it’s soul from the local farmer, to the seasonal worker labouring the many lime kilns, to the cod fisherman coming back from North Atlantic on board the infamous “Bacalhoeiros”.
The wine was harvested and produced locally and it’s been said that it served as a tavern for local and traveling workmen for many years.

My name is Sergio Pereira, Portuguese born and bred and I am blessed to be the owner of the Wine Cellar.
After a lifetime of adventures and experience being a global traveller, I decided to settle on the Silver Coast with my partner Ariana and our daughter Constanca.
I am a metal / wood craftsman and my creations are mostly furniture, architectural and household goods.
In 2018, I bought this property to use as the grounds for my business and workshop.
Unfortunately, as my personal and work life progresses I no longer have the use for such a historical space and having realised the huge potential for development as a wonderful home or a rental property, I figured the only reasonable thing to do would be to pass it on to someone that can truly realize its potential.
